The purpose of this study is to evaluate cultural competence among hospice care providers and the impacts associated with patients’ end-of-life care. Methods: Hospice staff practitioners (N=11) completed the Cultural Competence Assessment (CCA) survey which consisted of questions on cultural competence awareness and sensitivity and cultural competence behavior. Results: questionaries’ were completed by 11 of 16 health care practitioners. Cultural competence and cultural awareness and sensitivity were positively related at a moderate level (r=.311, p=.280). Cultural competence and cultural awareness and sensitivity were negatively related to the number of training sessions are very low. Discussion: It is vital for care providers to enhance their cultural competencies in order to help guide the complexities of the death and dying phases.
